Greater Atlanta Family Counseling offers services designed to support adults with autism in developing greater independence, improving daily functioning, and strengthening practical life skills.

Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services (PSR):
PSR services involve pairing adult clients with a psychosocial rehabilitation professional who works with them to strengthen independent living skills. Services may focus on areas such as socialization, coping strategies, communication skills, organization, and financial or daily living skills.

At this time, PSR services are not billable through health insurance. The current private pay rate is $75 per hour for services provided to clients whose residence is within 30 minutes of a GAFC office.

For clients seeking consistent support, we offer a monthly package of $600 for ten hours of PSR services. This package may be paid in two installments.

Initial Assessment:
All clients must complete an initial assessment to identify needs, establish goals, and determine the appropriate level of support. For individuals who have previously participated in ABA services or similar programs, the assessment is offered at a flat rate of $350 and includes record review and clinical interviews.

If a client has not previously received ABA or comparable services and their needs appear to fall within the moderate to severe range, the scope of the evaluation may be more extensive and the assessment fee will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

May be needed if an individual is turning 18 or above and needs to have a guardian/conservator assigned. We complete these evaluations on a private basis; uncontested evaluations are $500.00.

• Probate Mediation

  • Useful if there is a major disagreement regarding guardianship and conservatorship, including when an individual is turning 18 or above. The disagreements may be between the plaintiff and the defendant (e.g. the defendant strongly opposes the idea of guardianship/conservatorship) or the disagreements could be between parents and/or other family members.

• Healthcare Dispute Mediation

  • Useful if parents, coparents, or caregivers have major disagreements regarding the best course of treatment for an individual with Autism, e.g. specialized or private schools, which doctors or healthcare providers a child will see, other parental disagreements regarding the child’s best interests, etc.
