All clients will complete a thorough diagnostic evaluation on the day of the first session. We are qualified to evaluate and diagnose most psychiatric conditions, including Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Bipolar Disorder, etc.

Additionally, many clients simply wish to be evaluated for a diagnosis without necessarily wanting to begin therapy. Greater Atlanta Family Counseling respects this. We frequently collaborate with primary care physicians, guidance counselors, and other health care providers to evaluate clients, provide a diagnosis, and offer treatment recommendations.

Please note that we cannot diagnose the following disorders:

- Cognitive Deficits or Learning Disabilities

- Developmental Disabilities such as Autism or Intellectual Disabilities

- Dyslexia

- Traumatic Brain Injuries

If we believe a condition is outside of our scope and/or a comprehensive psychological evaluation is warranted, we will work with the client and their family to identify a psychologist who can complete this.

Similarly, if we believe a psychiatric evaluation is warranted, we will assist clients and their families in identifying and/or referring to psychiatrists.
